Starting in October 2022, the Woodstock Art Gallery will work through the phases required to develop a Digitization Strategy that will inform and direct purposeful digital thinking across the engagement with the collection through exhibitions and education programs (both in-person and on-line). These phases include a digital needs and maturity assessment, community consultations and visioning of goals and priorities. The digitization strategy will address three of the strategic initiatives (Capacity Building; Digital Drivers and Public Engagement) outlined in the Woodstock Art Gallery 5-year strategic plan (2021 – 2026) which can be found at:

A primary component of the development of the Digitization Strategy will be the use and development of the collections management database. The Gallery has transitioned from the outmoded Past Perfect platform to the more dynamic Argus system. This new database system features many avenues that can be activated to facilitate Canadian’s access to our heritage. A Digitization Strategy will outline which activities to leverage for maximum impact to improve and garner greater access to the Gallery’s collection.
