The purpose of this RFP is to select a theatre consultant to continue with an initiative already started by The Toronto District School Board (TDSB).
TDSB owns 94 secondary schools. Fifty-two of these schools have auditoriums. Forty-two have cafetoriums. The first group dates from the late 1800’s to the early 1970’s. The latter group dates from the early 1970’s to the present.
These stages have had original equipment installed, perhaps subsequently modified, that must be reviewed and, where necessary, must be upgraded to comply with the requirements of current codes and regulations, most especially the Occupational Health and Safety Act for the Province of Ontario.
Where possible, the stage systems may also be upgraded to meet the requirements of current operating and creativity expectations.
