Summary
The Vancouver Improv Centre Society (dba. The Improv Centre), formerly the Vancouver TheatreSports League, a registered charity with an annual budget of just over $2 million, is seeking proposals from qualified individuals and firms to lead our next three-year strategic planning process. This process will be undertaken in partnership with The Improv Centre’s Board of Directors and leadership team. The new Strategic Plan will be effective from July 1, 2024 through June 30, 2027.
The 2023/24 season marks The Improv Centre’s (TIC) second year of full programming after a 17-month closure during the pandemic. In the space of two years, TIC has accomplished a number of different things: held the organization’s first general audition, welcomed an entirely new ensemble of performers, relaunched improv education programs, and brought ticket sales back to near pre-pandemic levels. As we close out the season and start planning for 2024/2025, we feel that our newly-found stability calls for a renewed, long-term strategic focus.
The Improv Centre’s Board of Directors and staff consider this an opportune moment to formalize our shared vision for the organization’s next three years. We hope for this vision to build on the successes of TIC’s remarkable 44-year history, while defining a strategic direction that prioritizes our shared values: 1) integrity, 2) diversity, equity, and inclusion, 3) community focus, and 4) artistic excellence.
