OKIB is dedicated to preserving its cultural heritage, fostering community well-being, and supporting sustainable economic development. We prioritize self-governance, community programs, and a strong focus on delivering benefits to our members through collaboration with partners and vendors.
Purpose of the RFP
The Okanagan Indian Band (OKIB) is seeking proposals from qualified consultants or firms to develop and implement protocols for the stewardship and protection of Syilx artwork and cultural expressions. This initiative aims to establish culturally grounded, community-informed guidelines to ensure the ethical use, reproduction, and representation of Syilx artistic and cultural heritage.
The selected consultant(s) will collaborate closely with the OKIB Language and Culture team, Knowledge Holders and Syilx artists to co-develop guiding principles, best practices, and actionable policies that uphold and protect Syilx intellectual property rights.
