Orchestras Canada/Orchestres Canada is the membership organization for Canadian orchestras, a dual-language national association based in Peterborough, Ontario.
As a result of a recent member and associate satisfaction survey, we have confirmed the need to strengthen the calibre of our communications: what we send out, what we make available, and what we enable among constituents. To help us move forward, we are seeking expert counsel on the shape of our future communications (content, frequency, targeting), and what we need to make them happen (technology and staffing, and the resources required to support them).
With the launch of a new strategic plan in Spring 2017, we think this is the right time to move forward with this important work.
Proposed Scope of Work:
- Audit of current OC communications offerings (outbound from OC to its members and associates, and facilitative among its members and associates):
- what OC is currently doing: offerings, time and financial requirements
- review of the analytics: breadth and depth of participation and uptake
- identification of others active in this field (competitors or potential allies), and a review of their practices
- benchmarking against organizations doing best-in-practice work in this area
2. Recommendations for improvement:
- Platforms: Technology, including impact on website design
- People: mindset and approach, required skills and time investment, training needs
- Processes: from content curation/creation to distribution
- Timelines and options for implementation over a 3-year period
- Evaluation frameworks to measure progress
- Resource requirements
Deliverables
- A final written report to be provided by the consultants;
- Presentation to the staff and board at an upcoming board meeting.
Value of the contract
- Up to $20,000 CAD, including applicable taxes.
Reporting
- The consultant(s) will report to the Executive Director, and will have access to a Communications task force made up of board, staff, and OC members
Orchestras Canada is happy to provide interested consultants with:
- A copy of the member/associate satisfaction survey results and recommendations;
- A copy of our draft strategic plan (which will be finalized in mid-May);
- An organizational chart and financial information from Orchestras Canada.
