The Niagara Historical Society (the “Society”) is requesting Expressions of Interest (EOI), from parties with suitable qualifications, for design, contract documents and approvals and contract administration for the expansion and renovation of our designated heritage Museum buildings. The intent of this EOI is to determine whether or not there is sufficient interest to proceed with a competitive bidding process. In the event there is sufficient interest in this project, the Museum may, but is not obligated to, initiate a competitive bidding opportunity. This EOI does not exclude design build teams
The Society was established in 1895 and opened the first purpose built Museum in Ontario in 1907. We are a team of staff and volunteers which passionately collects, preserves, researches, educates and promotes the history of Niagara-on-the-Lake and its communities. We inspire an appreciation of local history through engaging programs and exhibitions.
The Society intends to continue collecting and preserving our local history collection as well as offer its public programs and exhibitions into the future. If a Request for Proposal is issued, it will focus on a new addition which will include collections storage, programming space (150 seat capacity) and an exhibition gallery (a total of 6,100 sq ft). It will also include renovations to certain sections of our current heritage buildings include accessibility requirements and repurposing of spaces to address staff and visitor needs. (3,725 sq ft).
Interested parties are invited to respond to this EOI by submitting a one-page letter to the Society that includes basic information about their firm, consortium or team plus a brief statement of the nature of their interest in the Project and examples of relevant experience. Responses should include a statement of interest only, and should not include any other information regarding the Project. The Request for Proposals will be distributed to interested parties only.
