ACCA members in good standing are welcome, on occasion, to use Go To Meeting for ACCA related meetings or their own consulting practice.
If you are using Go To Meeting there are a few rules to follow. These rules are in place because Go To Meeting does not allow us to subcontract their platform and we do not wish them to interpret our members’ occasional usage as subcontracting.
Training: If you have never hosted a meeting on this particular platform before, it is important that you review the online training, available for free on YouTube. ACCA is not able to provide training or technical support. Only the ACCA Administrator is able to contact Go To Meeting for assistance. So please prepare yourself to manage your meeting on your own by reviewing the training videos in advance.
Password: In order to use Go To Meeting you will require the user name and password. This can be obtained from the Administrator at minimum one week in advance. The reason for this is that ACCA has only part-time administration and no one may be available close to your meeting date. So please plan well in advance to get the user name and password and from there, set up your meeting date and times. The password will change regularly so do not assume that the one that you used last time will work again when you need it.
Scheduling Your Meeting: ACCA board meetings will be scheduled onto the calendar for the entire year. Committee meetings are scheduled as needed. If your personal meeting date and time conflicts with either of these, the ACCA meetings take precedence and you will have to find another platform. Please be aware that Zoom offers a free version if your meeting is less than 40 minutes long. Put your meeting on the Go To Meeting calendar in order to claim that space. You can only do this if you have the password.
Naming Your Meeting: When you book your meeting on the calendar within the platform, you are required to name it. Please use a non-descriptive title such as Committee Meeting or Governance Workshop followed by your initials rather than naming it after your client or your own business e.g. Board consultation (EB). This will assist in keeping the purpose of the meeting low key and maintain your privacy. Please be aware that your clients, while waiting for your meeting to start will see the ACCA logo. Please do not replace this logo with another one, even temporarily.
Payment: There is a donation button on the Members Only page of the ACCA website. You are invited to make a contribution to ACCA every time you use Go To Meeting. The suggested contribution is $15 for every increment of 2 hours or less. If it is 3 hours in length, we suggest a donation of $30 etc. Please make your contribution in advance of your meeting.
Confidentiality: ACCA asks that you do not promote the fact that you have this members-only privilege. It should definitely not be mentioned on social media or in writing to your clients. Someone may ask and you are welcome to tell them when they do, but please do not broadcast this as a membership benefit. We will pass the word among our members by word of mouth and only those who request to use the platform will be sent these rules.
Revocation: Use of Go To Meeting is a privilege and not an official benefit of membership in ACCA. This privilege can be revoked by the Administrator at any time.
Thank you for respecting this privilege and for contributing to ACCA’s bottom line by making a contribution every time you use the platform.
