Fundraising and Development Feasibility Study

Summary

SK Arts has received a strong mandate from our stakeholders to pursue alternative streams of revenue, but we remain unsure of the best approaches towards this type of work, particularly given that we are a Crown agency considered within government. We are hoping to engage an independent consultant, over the next few months, to consider potential private funding sources and how they would respond to solicitations from SK Arts. The consultant will make recommendations regarding the most effective methods for SK Arts to undertake such work.

Specifically, the consultant will:
• Map the philanthropic landscape of Saskatchewan and identify individual, foundation, and corporate donors to approach for feasibility interviews.
• Work with SK Arts staff to develop outlines of a couple of cases for philanthropic support to test with potential funders.
• Interview key individual, foundation, and corporate prospects to assess the feasibility of their investment in SK Arts.
• Make recommendations to SK Arts regarding a fundraising goal, based on market assessment, and the structure and resources required to achieve that goal.

SK Arts staff will work with the selected consultant, particularly during the development of potential sample cases for support around existing agency activities.
