Opened in November 2015, the FirstOntario Performing Arts Centre (PAC) is a keystone to the revitalization of downtown St. Catharines. The 95,000 square foot facility includes 4 state of the art venues including The Film House: 199 seats that exhibits year-round independent art films and festivals for the public and to serve as a lecture hall during the day. The Film House has been operating since February 2016 and has shown more than 1500 screenings that include first-run feature films, classics, documentaries and family entertainment.
The FirstOntario Performing Arts Centre is seeking a Programmer for the Film House. The successful proponent will undertake the following tasks to meet the project goals, which are to program, administer and assist with marketing the Film House. This includes:
1) Maintain and further develop a lively film series that runs 8-12 screenings per week, at least 340 days each year, note that programming dates and times are subject to change and may include all colander dates including stat holidays;
2) Provide popular, accessible and contemporary programming that engages a diverse community;
3) Execute the administrative functions of booking film in collaboration with PAC Programming and Marketing Staff.
