Strategy Consultant & Project Manager
As a consultant, Kayla has worked with a range of clients including the Book and Periodical Council, the Canadian Independent Booksellers Association, the Siminovitch Prize in Theatre, the League of Canadian Poets, The Writers’ Union of Canada, and shop613. Prior to starting her independent practice in 2020, Kayla worked in fund development, governance, and program management with the Writers’ Trust of Canada, INSPIRE! Toronto International Book Fair, Women of Influence, and the YMCA. In addition to her Honours BA, she has post-graduate certificates in fundraising, publishing, and public policy. She has also trained in not-for-profit financial management, human resources, and human-centered design. Her approach is strategic in nature and she brings boundless energy, political savvy, and cross-cultural communication skills to her work.
