Biographical Info

Following his performance career, Jeff Sodowsky has consulted and served as a board member for many charities. Past appointments include serving as Interim VP of Advancement for Thompson Rivers University, Chief Development Officer for BC Women’s Hospital + Health Centre Foundation, Executive Director for Opera Cleveland, Acting General Director and Chief Development Officer for Vancouver Opera, Education and Development Specialist for American Ballet Theatre, Director of Education for Louisville Ballet, Educator for National Faculty, Public Relations Assistant for the University of Cincinnati College-Conservatory of Music, Program Coordinator for the Kentucky Center for the Arts and Finance Director for a US Congressional campaign. Skilled at cultural, international and scaled nuances in fundraising, Jeff has navigated projects that are site-specific as well as those that are provincial, national or international in scope. His work has included directly soliciting multi-million-dollar donations and administering significant endowments. Yet, he has also helps grassroots organizations to maximize and leverage their modest resources. Jeff has partnered with Indigenous agencies on health, art and education. In every instance, success was directly tied to understanding perspectives, cultures, values and opportunities that were present. Jeff’s consultancies include campaign planning, establishing giving programs, interim leadership, training, and mentorship of executive leaders and fund-raising personnel. He has developed strategic plans, written grants, produced events and managed through cutbacks and crises. Jeff holds an MA in Arts Administration with a major in performing arts and a minor in museum management. He holds an MBA as well. Jeff is a Certified Fund-Raising Executive (CFRE).
