As an innovative marketing professional with hands-on experience in all aspects of not-for-profit management, Carey is ready to help your organization. A frequent panellist and presenter, Carey has participated in numerous conferences, including Orchestras Canada, Tessitura, the League of American Orchestras, and community-based organizations. Previous posts include senior management positions with the Ravinia Festival (Chicago), the Chicago Symphony Orchestra Association, the Philadelphia Orchestra, and the Toronto Symphony. While at the Chicago Symphony, Carey launched innovative audience development programs such as ClassicEncounters, MusicNOW, and Classical Tapestry. At the Philadelphia Orchestra, outreach programs such as eZseatU and Neighborhood Concerts took center stage. And at the Toronto Symphony, Late Night concerts, tsoundcheck, and community partnerships helped drive incredible growth in attendance and revenue, setting organization records that still stand today. Carey expanded her revenue generation expertise to include fundraising when she served at the World Wildlife Fund Canada. Carey established solid management practices at each of these organizations and implemented business management tools to foster an organization-wide understanding of customer needs and expectations. In her consulting practice, Carey offers support and guidance in strategic planning, resource mobilization, research, marketing strategy, project management, interim executive leadership and brand strategy.
